English Teacher

From September 2017

We are seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic, ambitious and inspirational English specialist to join our strong and committed English Department. We require an excellent classroom practitioner who is a creative thinker with good communication and leadership skills. You should have a proven track record of promoting good progress and outcomes for pupils, seek to raise expectations and provide challenge. The ideal candidate would be able to teach at both GCSE and A-Level. The opportunity to teach to A-Level may be available for suitably experienced and interested candidates. NQT’s are welcome to apply.

Applications from candidates who are currently non-English specialists but who have a good teaching track record and an A’ Level in English are invited to apply. Appropriate support and CPD would be available to the right candidate looking for a new teaching opportunity.

English at Headlands School has a high uptake at A’ Level. Results this year were 50% A* to B, 85% A* to C and 100% pass rate. We are looking for a candidate who can build upon these excellent results.

The successful candidate can expect to be part of a supportive staff committed to making a real difference to the young people of Bridlington. You will join a friendly and hardworking team and will have the opportunity to develop through first class CPD.

Bridlington is a coastal town which is undergoing rapid regeneration and significant financial investment. Quality of life in the East Riding is exceptionally high - housing is plentiful and prices are lower than many other parts of the country.

If you want to be part of an establishment that highly values its staff and provides opportunities for further development and promotion, we want to hear from you.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
