Gorse Academies Trust School Centred Initial Teacher Training

Gorse Academies Trust School Centred Initial Teacher Training

Stamford A – Gorse Academy Trust School

05 November 2018

Dear Parent / Carer

I am writing to you today with some exciting news.  During the course of the last ½ term we have become a formal partner with the outstanding Gorse Academies Trust School Centred Initial Teacher Training or SCITT.

This accolade means we have been “judged” to be in a position, by the Department for Education, to be best placed to train aspiring teachers to a high, practical and academic level right here at Headlands School.   It should be noted that anyone who successfully trains with us, as well as receiving Qualified Teacher Training Status from experienced school practitioners, will also be awarded a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and 60 points towards a Masters qualification through our collaborative work with the University of Sunderland.

If you, or anyone else you know, is a Postgraduate and is interested in becoming a teacher in a Secondary school, please pass on the details below.  We are able to offer Teacher Training via the School Direct route as we are passionate and deeply committed to training teachers by exposing them to excellent existing practitioners.  The course is full time and takes one academic year to complete.  The application system is scheduled to open on UCAS.

Further information can be found at The Gorse Academies Trust SCITT website – www.gorsescitt.org.uk  or by contacting me via the schools main reception or email amy.stamford@headlandsschool.co.uk

Yours sincerely

Mrs A Stamford
