Headteachers Update
Welcome to the Spring Headteacher’s Update. I am thrilled to have been appointed to the post of Headteacher on a permanent basis and see it as a real Best Wishes Scott Ratheram (Headteacher) Welcome to the latest Headteacher's Update. It has been a busy and successful term for all of us connected with the school. You will now have received the latest Ofsted report and this, coupled with the improved examination results, gives us a good foundation for a really positive future. For this update we have really focussed on the pupils' achievements and celebrated the many exciting things that they are involved in. I hope this publication gives you a flavour of the wide variety of activities that pupils are excelling in. I would like to extend my thanks to all the staff, volunteers, parents and pupils involved in these, and other activities, for their dedication and hard work. Well done to all involved. . All that remains for me to do is wish you a Happy Christmas as we all look forward to seeing Headlands go from strength to strength in the New Year. Welcome to the latest edition of the Head’s update. This has been a very busy period for the school with students working hard towards their external examinations. On the 23rd & 24th of June HMI came to carry out a further monitoring inspection. They spent two days observing lessons, interviewing students and staff and making observations from focussed walks around the school and scrutinising other documents. They judged that the school has demonstrated Good progress since their last visit stating that “there is much evidence of accelerated Headlands School is a rather different place this year to last, students are taking an increased pride in their studies, behaving well(Ofsted says behaviour has shown “good” improvement) and working really hard to improve the schoolHeadteachers Update May 2010
