Dear Student

Important information
Re: Enrolment into the Sixth Form and start of term arrangements

As you will be aware, the GCSE results are published and available for you to collect on Thursday 24 August from the Main School Hall between 10:00am and 11:30am.

If you are enrolling into the 6th Form you will need to bring any work set during “Heads-up week” with you to show subject staff so that you can discuss your exam results and suitability for your chosen course. They will confirm, or otherwise, your place on the course before you formally enrol. For those unable to attend “Heads Up” for any reason, you will find the Bridging work on the school website from the end of term.

This must be done on Thursday 24 as the majority of staff will not be available after this date until the start of term.

You must formally enrol for the Sixth Form on results day, Thursday 24 August or the day after, Friday 25 August, in the Library / Learning Resource Centre. If you are going to be away on holiday or unavailable on 24 and 25 August, please get in touch and we can arrange an alternative date and time after the results. Please bring your results slips with you. If you have not achieved your grades needed to follow your chosen pathway, you will need to see me on results day as a matter of urgency so that we can decide your best course of action. When you have formally enrolled and confirmed your final courses, we will enrol you and you will start the Sixth Form on Tuesday 5 September.

On the first day you will need to assemble in the Youth Centre at 8:25am where your form tutor will meet you and take you to your form room. They will then give you your Timetable and go through other information with you until 9:30am.

At 9:30am (Period 2) you will start your lessons. Only Year 12 and Year 7 students will be in school on this day. On Wednesday 6 September the rest of the school will start; on that morning there will be another one-hour induction session with form tutors, after that you will start full timetabled lessons. Tutor period is compulsory for all Sixth Form Students and once a week on a rotation, we will have a briefing assembly in the Hall which all Sixth Form students must attend. You will be registered in the briefing assembly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact myself.

Yours sincerely
Mrs Helen Musgrave
