Dear Parent /Carer

Re: Arrangements for Y11 from Monday 5 June 2017

This year GCSE examinations started earlier than previous years. Many students will be more than half way through their exams by half term, and will have lessons on their timetable for subjects they have already completed examinations in.

We have therefore made the following arrangements -

From Monday 5 June Year 11 students will be expected to attend school as detailed below:

•Attend all school lessons for all subjects where they have not yet taken the GCSE exam.

    • Attend all school revision sessions for all subjects where they have not yet taken the GCSE exam.

    • Attend BTEC and ECDL courses until they are advised they have completed the course by Mrs Stamford (Deputy Head).

    • Attend all their scheduled GCSE exams.

Unfortunately, students not attending lessons and / or revision sessions as detailed above; risk not being able to go to the end of year Prom on Friday 30 June 2017.

In what has now become an annual Headlands School tradition, students are invited to attend a Leavers Assembly at 9am on Tuesday 20 June 2017 in the Main Hall. We would ask that students don’t arrive on site any earlier than just before 9am and proceed straight to the Main Hall. Once the assembly has finished students will be allowed to leave site if they don’t have subject lessons, ECDL, BTEC classes or revision classes.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your on-going support and I will look forward to celebrating with you and your child their fantastic GCSE results on Thursday 24 August.

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Bone
