“Many parents want to be more involved in their children’s education. In a recent study in England 72% of parents said that they wanted more involvement”
The Parent Council was established to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to have a much greater say in how the school is organised, the curriculum, behaviour and rewards, uniform and many other issues. It is a voluntary group of between 15 and 20 parents who meet every half-term. It is our parents’ chance to have a real say in the development of school policy and decision making. Each meeting is chaired by David Stamper, the schools Director of Community, and always has a guest speaker to discuss the main agenda items. Students from various groups within the school also often attend to give their opinions on the issues raised. Minutes of Parent Council meetings are downloadable below and if you like to join this effective team, please contact us.
“Our Parent Council is a really good mix of people with an array of different experiences and skills that they offer. They have been instrumental in many aspects of the school including recent changes to uniform and our transition process”.
