At Headlands School we take great care to ensure we have close partnership working with parents / carers and also external agencies to ensure you and your child(ren) have access to appropriate services and support as and when they require it.
The Support for Learning Department is based in the Learning Resource Centre. The team consistents of a Director of Support for Learning, Learning Tutors, a Student Progress Leader and a Student Progress Officer.
The team utilises additional funding given to the school through the Pupil and Catch-Up Premium funding streams to support students with their individual educational needs. We always assess the needs of individual students and decide the best way to use the funding. This could be through an intensive one to one or small group approach. We select programmes and approaches where we feel there is good evidence of effectiveness in improving outcomes. Please see our Pupil Premium Strategy document for more detailed information on the impact of our work.
In addition we also employ the services of a School Counsellor, provide a weekly Health Drop in Clinic with the School Nurse, and provide bespoke emotional and mental health support through an NHS project called “SMASH.”
If you require any information please get in touch.
