Young Enterprise

As part of the Young Enterprise programme, our team attended the North Humber Company of the Year Competition on the 24th March in Hull. For the competition we had to write a company report detailing our journey so far, display our product and company details on a trade stand and finally present our business to an audience of entrepreneurs. Our team was judged based on these three factors and we are proud to have been awarded first place. We successfully won Company of the Year as well as the Marketing, Sales and Customer Service Award! We are excited to be attending the next round of the competition in May for the Regional Final.

An Email Of Congratulations From Heather Crombie

"Dear Shores,

Huge CONGRATULATIONS on taking the top prize at the Area Finals! You have really done your company and your school proud. I have seen a couple of the pictures that Andy took and I understand he is sending you the link for viewing all pictures. Some lovely shots of you guys.

I wanted to send you the briefing pack for the next phase of the competition, so that you can start preparing. I have requested feedback from the judges and will come to one of your meetings after Easter to talk through your plans.

Well done, once again, on a richly deserved win. Ice blasts all round!

Best wishes

Heather

Feedback From YE Judges

This has to be one of the most cohesive companies I have ever seen. Everything from their Company Report to their lanyards were co-ordinated in their corporate identity! They were clearly focussed on delivering a well thought out and budgeted product. Excellent to see – they have sent the gift box which Claire S bought for her friend – so can deliver on promises! Brilliant to see!!

Next Stages Advice

I would encourage all of the learners to be clear when answering questions on their Trade Stands, all of the team should be encouraged to answer questions without one individual claiming all of the judges time. I would also recommend that the Teams display their company records – it is always great to see folders of meeting minutes/ideas/mind maps etc which they have done throughout the company year. Brings their company reports etc to life and demonstrates good processes etc (and often a chance for the quieter more adminny roles to shine a bit!).
